    • It is hard to let old beliefs go. They are familiar. We are comfortable with them and have spent years building systems and developing habits that depend on them. Like a man who has worn eyeglasses so long that he forgets he has them on, we forget that the world looks to us the way it does because we have become used to seeing it that way through a particular set of lenses. Today, however, we need new lenses. And we need to throw the old ones away.

      - Kenich Ohmae

    • The title is linked to the whole article, which is a must read for everyone in my opinion. Even after calling around to find a doctor who would accept my children if they weren't vaccinated, and firmly expressing my desire to NOT give Kelan any vaccinations (alas, I discovered the facts too late to spare Kadie any future repercussions - I only hope she doesn't suffer any, and can forgive us if she does), our doctor still tried to bully me into giving Kelan a pertussis (whooping cough...

    • Media Now Promoting Brain Eating Vaccines

Dr. Robert Sapolsky has been researching a"stress vaccine" for 30 years, and one may very well be one on the horizon.

Dr. Sapolsky believes that it is possible to alter brain chemistry to create a state of 'focused calm,' and claims that he is closing in on a path to a genetically engineered formula.

He has adapted a herpes virus to carry engineered"neuroprotective" genes deep into your brain to neutralize stress...

    • For those of us not lucky enough to live in the sticks and get"real" food anymore...we have to be a little more careful. This is from a newsletter I get from Dr. Sears:

In today’s Doctor’s House Call, I’m going to tell you how to combat one of the most dangerous threats to your health today.

      Estrogen.

Estrogen is found in the hormone-laden meat you get at the grocery store. It’s found in plastic, too. Every time you take a sip from your water bottle or heat up a...

Flu Plan Scandal Ahead â€" An Urgent Warning

The World Health Organization (WHO) declared the swine flu pandemic officially over on August 9th.

Last year the United States contracted for the manufacture of over 170 million doses of swine flu...

    • Jeff is running in a 10K tomorrow. I've agreed to wake up at 5:30 on a Saturday morning to drive him down, and bring Kadie along to cheer him on. Nicole has agreed to babysit Kelan for a few hours so that we don't have to take him, as we're not sure if he's gotten over his car screaming yet (and we'd rather not drive that far - an hour each way - to find how he does).

It's supposed to be a nice"balmy" 89 degrees with 59 percent humidity. The good news is that it starts at 8:30 am, so...

    • I started falling asleep at work today, so I stood up to keep myself awake, and continued to type. A few seconds later, I started to sway on my feet as I started to fall asleep, standing up.

If our schedule was our own, and we could go to work at any point in the day, I'd get enough sleep as Kelan is sleeping between six and eight hours straight during the night. Unfortunately, he still doesn't go down for the night until around 10 or 11 pm. When I have to wake up at 3 am, that doesn't...

    • I cooked this the other day and Kadie and I really liked it (she even asked for seconds!). Jeff was so-so on it, but he's not a big rice fan and I like soy sauce more than he does.

I made a few changes to the recipe that we used based on the comments and what I experienced while cooking it, but the general taste should still be the same.

      Citrus Chicken and Rice

4 pieces of chicken (diced, optional) 1 cup water 2 tsp chicken bouillon 1 cup orange juice 1 medium onion...

    • Happy birthday to me...I get to stand in line at the DMV to renew my license next week. Here's to hoping that the lines are short and the workers are motivated (no offense, Suzie, but I think Maryland prides itself on how long they can keep people waiting). My last trip to the DMV was to simply turn in Jeff's old plates. It didn't require anything except to drop off two chunks of flat metal. It took over an hour. Our record remains from about 8 years ago though, when Maryland decided that we...

    • At 4.5 months, Kelan weighs 20 pounds!

    • Thanks to the overzealous work of my Air Force instructors, I developed insomnia and spent a good eight years on sleeping medications (prescription and OTC) before I found melatonin. Now I guess I need to step up the brain exercises to make up for the mistake (to read the whole article, see this).

Studies Prove that These Drugs Make Your Brain Stop Working…

Drugs commonly taken for a variety of common medical conditions negatively affect your brain, causing long term...
