    • Well, for those of you that have been in contact with us recently you may have already heard the news. But for those that are unaware, HeatherDawn and I recently decided that we are going to stay in the Maryland area for a few more years. A combination of events unfolded that actually led us to this decision. There were pros and cons to both staying here, and moving to Colorado. When we weighed them all out, Maryland kind of came out on top. However, our plans to stay in the area are only short...

    • Just a quick note to say,"howdy" and to start the ball rolling with this blog thing. I know communication is a really big concern for a lot of members of this family, and I think this type of forum might help alleviate that somewhat. Blogs are meant for everything from activity updates to a space to vent daily frustrations, so let your fingers (and inhibitions) fly. We're slowly (and, hopefully, surely) getting closer to closing on our old house. The inspector came back with quite an extensive...

    • Just a quick note to any that are interested...I've been reading a book that makes a lot of sense when you get right down to it. It's called Metabolic Typing Diet by William Wescott. It has some wonderful advice to help clarify all the"nutritional information" that we're constantly being bombarded with. The book's main focus is on developing a healthier you, from the ground up. It maintains that, instead of"diagnosing" your ailments and treating them, piece by piece,"fix" yourself on a basic...

    • Heard that on the news this afternoon - it's a cross between humidity and temperature; a way to say how hot it"feels" when you add the humidity into the calculation. Anyway, as of 2:30 this afternoon, the humature at Ft Meade, Maryland was 94 degrees. Ick! Kadie's a little worse for the wear today. Not a good day for potty training, but she's feeling worse (her cold) and we think that may have a lot to do with it.I'm exhausted. Work is draining me at the moment. If it weren't for the people we...

    • Just here to say hi.We had a pretty good day all around. Jeff was pretty tired (three hours of sleep last night, go figure) and Kadie's still coughing like a 60-year-old pack-a-day addict, but we're all plugging through. Kadie did a pretty good job today with potty training. We're getting there! My work has me going in three directions at once, but what's new? Jeff is bummin' it at the office - his boss is out this week so he's been showing up in jeans. Slacker!

    • Anyone else up for a little time off? I woke up this morning and heard our answering machine beeping. I was a bit surprised as I didn't hear the phone ring last night and I'm normally a very light sleeper. Exhaustion helps, I guess. Anyways, as I'm walking down the stairs I'm thinking,"Please let it be Tracy calling to say she can't take Kadie today." How pathetic is that?! Unfortunately, it wasn't Tracy and I was forced to get ready for work. So here I am - with no coffee as I've sworn off...

    • We've finally unloaded that white elephant we will always remember, not so fondly, as our first home. We got a call last night (a little after 7) for us to be at the title company at 9 am the next morning, certified check in hand. Oh, crap! We've been saving up our money for closing (we actually had to pay the buyer's closing costs to get this thing off our hands) in Jeff's bank account in Texas. Everything we could think of to get the money here for us to get a certified check would take at...
