    • Apparently, there was a glitch where I wasn't seeing about half the posts. Unfortunately, it's the kind of glitch that's hard to know about and report â€" kind of like asking,"all those NOT here, raise your hand." I realized something was off when Jeff started talking about something Lisa had written and I couldn't remember having read it. He fixed whatever it was last night and I had some catching up to do.We are uber busy, as usual. Today starts my third class: Social Psychology. I've read...

    • I'm finishing up with week 2 of my class - still lovin' it. I had gotten full credit for everything so far, but I did miss a question on the quiz I just took tonight (each question is worth a half a point), so the pressure has been relieved. As I explained to Jeff, it's one of the reasons I didn't really enjoy school. While this may sound cocky, I don't mean it to be, so don't take it that way...you see, I did so well in school, I was always just waiting for the plane to crash. Since I know I'm...

    • I have officially started back to college. My first course (Psy 202 - Adult Development) got underway this Tuesday. I'm thoroughly enjoying it even though some of the things my fellow students write floors me. I've got one guy encouraging me to regularly beat Kadie's butt to develop her long-term obedience. My argument began with my belief that punishments do not work for the long-term goal of changing a child's internal motivations. This guy actually likened a child to a trained mouse going...

    • I'm assuming that everyone is as busy as we are, either working or enjoying the summer sun and warmth...either that or the west coast has finally broken off and fallen into the ocean. If that were the case, however, I'm sure we would have heard about that - even if we never watch the news. We haven't been especially busy with anyting out of the norm, just the regular flow of every day life, but that keeps us hopping in and of itself. We went down to Dean and Kathy's on the 4th and spent a nice...

    • I haven't posted in a while because my typing, at the moment, closely resembles a monkey on crack pounding on a keyboard. Read on for an explanation...After several months of wrist pain that slowly worsened to a permanent dull throb no matter what I did (or didn't do), I finally decided to go see a specialist to narrow down what was going on. Apparently, at some point, I strained the flexor tendon in my right forearm. While I tried the various home remedies (hot packs, NSAIDs, a hand brace...

    • We got a call from Kadie's school today around one, telling us that she had been acting listless so they had taken her temperature...101 degrees. We picked her up and took her home, but we're hoping that this is just a fluke and not another round with supervirus. When we got home, I took her temperature again and it was normal. An hour later, it was 99.6. I'm going to wait to see what the night brings, and what her temp is in the morning, but, with the last go 'round, she was temperature free...

    • We've been a bit busy here, though I've tried keeping up with the posts from everyone else.Kadie is still experiencing problems with her allergies (or whatever is causing the problem) and I think the nasal spray the doctor gave us is drying her nose out too much as she's had 3 nosebleeds this week. She has also continued to throw up during our commutes - w/ continued use of both medication and the motion sickness wrist bands. I'm hoping (only because other options are too scary to consider...
