    • Happy Birthday, Zachary love you, Grandma

    • Mom and I arrived home, from our trip back East, Monday evening, Oct. 17. Friday morning, Oct 21, I got a call from the police about 6:30, saying that Mom was on the way to the hospital. Seems she went to the bathroom sometime before 5 AM and tipped froward off the toilet when reaching for her slipper. After trying for more than an hour to get up, she finally pushed the alert button that she wears to call 911. They found her on her knees, sitting on her feet. When I got to the hospital they...

    • Is it a bug? I tried to reply to HD's post about picking up the kids - I get the reply box & amp; can type a response, but there is no way to post it. To get rid of the reply box I have to click the arrow back. I also see that my blank reply is dated Wed. Dec. 31, 1969 at 4PM?????

    • Richard, Violet, and I met, Dave, Melody, and Grandma Anne at Mike and Jan's last Friday, to celebrate 93 years of a life well lived. We enjoyed tons of wonderful food, nice weather and the best family reunion. On Saturday, Jan took"the girls" to the Sand festival where we saw incredible sand sculptures. Then Sunday, several of us went with Grandma Anne to view a home in Panorama City, in Lacy, WA. It is just a 20 minute drive from Jan's home and is a beautiful setting for people 62 and...

    • Last night, I took Violet, her friend, Kathrynn, K's mom, Tanya and my Mom to the Bandon Community Theater production of My Fair Lady. They did an awesome job.

Tanya and I each watched the movie version with our girls during the week so they would know the story, thinking it might be shortened for the play, but they didn't appear to leave anything out. The show was 3 hours with a 15 minute intermission.

Everyone enjoyed the evening, but were more than ready to get to bed. I...

    • We've got a big day ahead. School gets out at noon (as usual on Fridays)

From 1-2:30 we have the annual Bike-a-Thon, which raises money for the kid's fair bracelets. Violet says she plans to ride 20 laps - that's 10 miles!

Then a trip to Coos Bay to pick up a storage building and Violet's new glasses. We discovered recently that she is nearsighted.

    • How are you and Mom doing? Can we see a picture of you? Love, Grandma

    • If you are interested in great portraits without the high cost of school photos, Walmart has a special for $7.99. They do adults, too, for the same price.

    • Hi Nana! It's me Violet. I love you very much and hope you and Molly are fine! Call me!

    • Aunt Heather Dawn, hi it's me Vi. I miss you and Uncle Jeff and Katy a lot!! We have 7 new kittens, they're so cute!!! I've been playing a lot of tricks on Grandpa and I'm running out so send some more!

    • Hi Aunt Lisa! It's Violet. I really miss you! How's Dirty Harry? I met a new girl in town, and she seems like a nice girl. I also have 7 new kittens, and they are already hissing a spitting! Now I know how parents feel, when they think their kids are growing up to fast! DON'T LAUGH! Grandpa still thinks we should put a brick on my head, to keep me from growing. He says it's all that eating. Hey, walking a mile or two makes me hungry! Anyone for pizza?

    • Hi Brianna! It's me Violet. I can't call you right now but I hope I see you soon! Grandpa's still probaly ( however you spell that,) still waiting for breakfast. That's the nickname that Grandpa gave you during a game. By the way, have you heard that Grandpa cancled ( how ever you spell that,) disney channel? And Sonny With a Chance, just came out! Well tell Lunch and Breakfast that if Bri comes back with her wand we can turn Grandpa into a mummy before he can eat us.

    • Jeff, when I try to open the blog titled YOU! the"Please wait" pops up then disappears and the blog doesn't open. It opened OK for me last night and the other blogs open today without a problem.

    • One nice thing about home schooling is having a holiday on your birthday. We are still without phone service and started getting more rain last night. It looks like another rainy day, though not windy. Violet put in an order for pancakes for breakfast and I made plans to take her to school today to share cupcakes with her friends. I was going to ask if Amanda could sleep over, but without phones, I haven't been able to make the connection with her mom. Yesterday when I stopped at school, I...

    • Hello from Powers We arrived home yesterday evening, about 8:45, in the WIND and RAIN! We drove though slushy snow near Mt. Shasta and arrived home during a hurricane, but had no problems. The house was cold, but thankfully the electric blankets were working. Richard started a fire and turned up the furnace. BRRRRRRRRR About 5:30 this morning, we lost our electric power and shortly thereafter, we lost our phone connection. The power came back on about 9:30 AM but, the wind and rain continued...

    • Thanks to everyone for their positive thoughts and healing prayers. Mom, Lois, and I had a great trip. It rained off and on the day we drove to Federal Way, but the traffic was good and the rainbows beautiful. The next day, we were given a free upgrade to first class and had a smooth flight to Anchorage. We landed on a clear fall day, enjoyed the gold leaves and white mountains on our drive to Kenai, and arrived just as it was getting dark. In our hotel room, we found a vase of flowers and a...

    • Hi everyone, Violet enjoyed her week of VBS (9am to 3pm) and now (half hour after she got home Friday) can't find anything to do! Richard spent most of the last two days rigging black pipe on the roof so we could warm the water for the pool. Now if we could only have some sun - that's been the problem, we have temps in the low 70's with clouds, so the air is nice, but the water is staying about 72 degrees. When I was a kid in Alaska, I would have thought that was great, but now I'm older...

    • HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY Hope you have a great day. Maybe this will help: Last night Richard said,"Let's not forget that tomorrow is Dave's birthday." Violet asked,"Will he be 27?"

    • A couple weeks ago, my old computer died - then last week Richard's hard drive quit. No web searches, no e-mail, no blogs - we CAN'T live this way! Makes me wonder how we survived before the computer age. Anyway, that is why you haven't heard from us. It was good to catch up on the blogs, but too much information to digest and respond to quickly. One thing that I have wanted to pass on to HeatherDawn, is the web site for free home schooling: www.connectionsacademy.com It is based in...
