    Snow and More Snow

Posted by Richard on Monday, February 04, 2008 @ 10:52 PM
Dave and I just about finished his carport project today.  We have a couple of hours left to finish up tomorrow.  It sounded simple enough, just a basic carport, no big deal.  Actually it is more like a COSTCO sized carport.  It is about 12 ft. off the ground at the low end, 28 ft. wide and 34 ft. back to the peak. From the peak it then slopes steeply to the rear and covers an existing wood shed.  It has snowed every day so far, but not added a lot of inches.  It is just cold and slippery.  The flat roof was nice to work on.  No worry about sliding off so all the worry warts can relax.  20 years ago this would have been much faster and a lot less effort.  So far my body has refused to follow the example of aging wine.  Today it seems more like an aging potato, but as Dave was saying "How much more fun can we endure?"  That's all for now.  The saga continues

Hey and I thought you might stay till summer to get it all done.  Did you think David would build a little carport??????  I told you it was a big project.  I am just sorry I have been in Seattle working and had such little time with all of you at my house.  Bet Mom is feeding you all just fine and having fun spoiling all.  Peggy, hope you are feeling better, expect it was too much cat.  The place is full of fur this time of year.  I appreciate you giving us all this much of your time to get the project done.  If you leave tomorrow, know that I will miss you and love you all.  For the rest of you, I took 3 days off work after the wedding so I would be home when Peggy, Dick, and Violet were there, not having a clue they would be here for so long.  Then, I was scheduled for 6 our of 7 days 12 hours shifts over here in Seattle, so will probably return when they leave, BOOO!!  It's been great to have them there, keeping Dave too busy to grumble too much about how he feels.   THANKS EVERYONE!   By the way, I wish you all could have seen the girls and Anne at the wedding, of course the bride and bridesmaid were beautiful, but Mom really looked elegant!  Has  the snow left Powers yet?  I expect to park at Mom's when I get home as the van won't go up the drive at this time.  Love to all, Melody

Of course it was a Costco sized carport.  Aren't you actually building Bubba living quarters? Glad to know that everyone stayed in place during construction...mashed potatos are really only great in a pot on the stove...not so much on the ground at the bottom of a peak.

I hope you are taking your super vitamins Melody...that is a crazy work schedule!

We are sorry that we missed the wedding.  I am certain that Lindsey was at a loss as to when to cut the cake, since Ms. Brianna was not there to coordinate the wedding.  It would be great to see pictures some day!

Thanks Melody, I'm fine now.  Although I felt really stuffy for a couple days, everything seems to have cleared up without a sore throat or cough.  Those are usually the hardest part of a cold for me.
