    Howdy,

Would really like to see new pictures of Grandkids and maybe a little less of cars.

    Suzie,

The Images section is open to all members for use. I cannot, however, force anyone to use it. Apparently I'm the only one who uploads on a regular basis, so for the time being, it looks like you're going to be stuck with trucks and tools.

I second that notion...I was looking through the pics yesterday...there are, what, about 1200 pics available? There are like ten family pictures...

We want chatty posts, with details that cover important details like, how hot was your coffee this morning, or that (*#&%)( blue car that cut you off this morning, or OOPS I stubbed my big toe!

....so start with the important stuff...the technical posts keep your fingers in shape, but confuse the rest of us. We wanna be able to share pieces of your life, and see pictures that don't look like incomprehensible motor parts, plugs and wires...don't get me wrong...when I am jones'n for a tech fix, you are the first one I come to, but I am trying to kick that bad habit. LOVE YOU!

Um... okay, apparently you guys are missing the bigger picture here (no pun intended). As of late, I am the only that is using the Images section. Your requests for alternative content are somewhat misguided since I am only in charge of MY photos. If you want pictures of kids or carnivals or hot coffee, feel free to upload something. Anyone can use the Images section. However, requesting that I alter my own personal content to suit your preferences is a tad bit ridiculous.

Ok Sunshine. Hmmmm. One of us is missing the bigger picture. What I am saying is that it would be nice to hear more about YOUR life, and what is going on, how you are feeling and whatnot. I am still trying to decide if hearing about the pregancy from the website was weird. It might have been...just sayin'....communication tools (haha) seem to be a bit ratchety. (this is fun!) I guess that's why the comments kind of irritated me. The photos that I'm uploading ARE part of MY life. They happen to be related to projects that are taking up a very good portion of my life at the moment. These things are really interesting to me. Your comments suggested that anything other than family photos was a complete waste of time. Can you see how that might come across as offensive to the owner of such pictures?

I certainly didn't mean to offend anyone. I figured the forums would be the quickest, easiest, cheapest (we now pay about 25 cents a minute), and safest (since I don't think cell phones are all that safe) way to get the news out there. I was just excited to let everyone know. I do apologize if I hurt anyone's feelings but not announcing it "in person".

Okay, thanks everyone. Jeff, I have tried to look at the pictures on here but I get tired of waiting forver for them to come up, sorry. I do have cable internet and most everything I load up comes up pretty fast. Do you have any suggestion?

I haven't written anything in some time and am therefore way behind in offending people. So at the risk of being labelled a sexist, I suggest you identify the "we" that wants chatty posts, etc. I'll guarantee it's not the men on this blog. Who gives a rat's ass how hot my coffee was this morning? And if stubbing your toe constitutes a significant event in your lives, then I suggest you need to get a more significant life

I (and I'll bet the other males) have no interest in "chatty" posts, rather I'm interested in meaty ones that raise issues, cause thought processes to occur, give out important information. Jeff is absolutely right when he says he posted pictures of what is important in his life now. If they are boring to someone else, then that someone else can post pictures of that bandaged toe. In short, whatever floats your boat.

    Dave

Well, welcome back Mr Grumpy. While I do agree with your comments in general (Chatty vs Meaty) I think you may have missed Lisa's point. I believe it is that people are more important in our lives than things. She would rather hear about Jeff's life as a person than about the details of his toys. It does tend to be more prevalent on the female side, but a point well taken. Toys are kind of like the the old joke about the 10 advantages of a cold beer vs a girl friend. " A cold beer will never yell at you" etc. Relationships take work and require two people. Life has no guarantee or extended warranty claims. When people are gone they are gone. On the flip side, toys can be replaced and the fridge can be refilled. It's all about what's important in a person's life.
